Feed4Cloud

Trustworthy User Feedback

Project Description

Typically, monitoring the performance and SLO compliance of highly distributed cloud-native services is premised solely on objective QoS measurements obtained by relevant monitoring tools. In Feed4Cloud, we incorporate user-generated feedback as an integral feature of the monitoring plane. The Feed4Cloud project will exploit recent advancements, such as Blockchain, to effectively tackle the problem of collecting QoE-related user-generated feedback for cloud-native services in a distributed and trustworthy manner. The integration of credible user feedback will result in an improved cloud monitoring framework and assist the service orchestration plane. To achieve this, we are going to implement a blockchain-based reputation management system on top of a commercial cloud orchestration and infrastructure automation solution, namely MAESTRO, provided by UBITECH.

Project Goals

The main Feed4Cloud goals are summarised as:

  • (i) Providing a decentralized reputation model to ensure fair quality evaluation of cloud-native services and credible user feedback,
  • (ii) Incentivizing the legitimate behavior service users,
  • (iii) Achieving trustworthy QoS and SLO monitoring in a distributed manner, and
  • (iv) Implementing a TRL 7 solution on top of the MAESTRO cloud orchestration framework.
